Last summer was filled with a rush of the most breathtaking weddings we have ever seen. Nashville weddings simply do not disappoint. Libby and Ben’s Scarritt Bennett nuptials gives us a glimpse of the amazing wedding season we had as they showcased classic details and unforgettable design that left us speechless.
If you are from Nashville, then you are probably familiar with the reputation of Scarritt Bennett as one of Nashville’s most historic and timeless venues. Libby and Ben’s style laced seamlessly together with the design of the gorgeous Wightman Chapel at Scarritt Bennett. So much so, that custom artwork of the famous chapel was printed for the envelope liner in their invitation suites!
Libby was a bride that was not only excited by calligraphy, but also had a deep appreciation for classic letterpress. (I could cry tears of joy, honestly because- same.) She gave us the green light to design her and Ben’s invitation suites in FULL spot calligraphy and letterpress! In the world of calligraphy, THIS is about as stunning as it gets, folks. Enjoy!
Our couple chose to use envelope calligraphy in white which paired beautifully against the dusty blue envelopes.
Libby and Ben’s reception venue was at the fabulous Belle Meade Country Club. This location definitely fit with the chic and classic energy of the day. The details flowed together flawlessly throughout the entire event. Absolutely nothing was underdone. We are especially proud to show off the final look of our couple’s seating chart! This is one of our favorite charts to date. The seating chart boasted dozens of brilliant little escort cards complete with custom spot calligraphy and tassels to top it all off. Unique but chic is the name of the game here. And I’m so in love with it.
White Ink continued our touch on this special day through details like Libby and Ben’s custom bar signage and some of the most adorable cocktail napkins with prints of the couple’s fur babies, Max and Zuzu. Cocktail hour is the perfect time to include special things like beloved pets! This is quickly becoming a popular theme.
I say it all the time, but White Ink Calligraphy really does have the best couples and clients ever. It was such an honor to work with Libby and Ben throughout the planning process all the way to the big day. I was moved by their appreciation for sophisticated detail and we were happy to make it all happen for these two. We appreciate you! Cheers!
As a calligrapher, I get the unique opportunity to work with people who are putting their best foot forward. My clients are truly dedicated to being intentional with the details of their events. Seeing that side of them is a huge motivating factor while putting in my best work for each client whether they are throwing a holiday event, a business party, or a dream wedding. Working for Elyse and Josh as they were putting together the final touches for their wedding day was a rewarding and heartfelt experience; one that my team and I were honored to be a part of.
The White Ink team quickly understood that, to Elyse and Josh, family is everything. We think you will enjoy checking out some of the projects we put together to make sure this Tennessee wedding sublimely celebrated the importance of being gathered together.
I was really excited about customizing the chalkboard signage for cocktail hour. It fit effortlessly into the southern style of the gorgeous Cranford Hollow barn venue. We also made chalkboard signage to inform the guests of the childcare that was available to parents of little ones! This kind of thoughtfulness is what can separate your event from others. Those parents will always appreciate that this was done for the kiddos.
For cocktail hour, Elyse and Josh wanted to display these super cute custom cocktail napkins. I especially love how the gold font jumps off the white napkin. These napkins are a great example of how our clients use small details to leave lasting impressions. I am here for it!
Our couple’s family-centered reception was beautifully elevated by the specially designed menus we made for them. White Ink’s stationary team designed these menus on hand torn paper and coupled it with a classic custom gold seal. Ok, so I kind of still can’t get over how Elyse and Josh included a complete cocktail pairing with each menu item!
As for the table numbers that White Ink provided for this absolute picture-perfect tablescape, texture was the name of the game. I love it when a table comes together like this. Linen, florals, textured glass, wood, gold, leather- I mean, it’s a chef’s kiss! It was so fun to include these adorable, wooden block table numbers. They were the perfect unique touch to a classically rustic tablescape.
Elyse and Josh are the kind of couple that reminds us that the work we do isn’t just for the client; it’s for family, it’s for friends. Weddings like this are where we show those closest to us that we care about their experience. Because this is where we gather. Cheers!
I want to say, whenever our couples take the time to include different textures in their wedding details it is ALWAYS worth the effort. Any creative knows that layered textures are sure to elevate an event. I’m excited to show you what White Ink created for Mae and Casey on their big day!
For starters, the home our couple chose as their venue was the most eye-pleasing, awe-inspiring place. There was no shortage of ivy laced brick, beautiful archways, iron gates or spiral staircases; I could go on and on. Fun fact: this home was also filmed in the show, “Nashville”, for all of you fans out there.
White Ink was thrilled when Mae and Casey asked us to put our own touch on this one-of-a-kind wedding. One of the best things about being a part of it all was getting to show the true beauty behind layering textures. Notice how the custom designed menu was displayed: heavy wooden table, gold rimmed glass charger, soft linen, rounded edged menu with spot calligraphy, and an olive branch all tied together with a single piece of twine. Whew! Now that is how you impress your guests using texture! This display at Mae and Casey’s reception embodied the perfect mixture of bold and gentle to make the dreamiest styled tablescape we have seen in a long time.
Check out this seating chart! Have you ever seen glass so perfectly placed? I mean this looks like it’s straight out of a fairytale! These gorgeous, gold-trimmed standing mirrors rested softly against iron gates and sat on a cushy bed of moss that was growing atop the stone floors and walls. (I mean, I love that I even get to say that sentence.) Again, layered texture for the win! I love seeing White Ink’s work used like this. It’s just so satisfying.
I was excited that Mae and Casey chose one of our card boxes from our extensive rental collection. This particular card box is gold trimmed and went flawlessly together with all of the gold accented décor throughout the ceremony and reception. The table numbers we provided for them were complete with gold flake corners and lettering, as well as the beautiful cocktail signage all done in gold ink calligraphy.
We love watching our couples piece their wedding day together and we love even more that we get to be such a big part of that. And when it comes to using lots of texture, don’t be afraid of it. It might be exactly what you’re looking for!
Hey guys! We want to bring you into our event signage process and show you a little bit about what creating your event sign with White Ink Calligraphy looks like. Whatever you are hosting or planning, we are well equipped and have everything on hand to tie your details together with the perfect sign.
“Why is event signage important?” Because it is not only decorative, it’s functional! You wouldn’t be expected to drive on a road without signs to guide you or explain a little bit about your surroundings. So, why would we do that to our guests? From table numbers to seating charts, to bar signs, guests can be confident about the goings on of an event because of the information our custom signage subtlety provides for them.
Our sweet couple, Camille and Daniel, asked White Ink to help provide their wedding guests with lots of great signage throughout their wedding day at Long Hollow Gardens. This gorgeous venue in Gallatin, Tennessee covers a lot of ground and has a lot to offer. So, bringing in signs to keep the crowd headed in the right direction and staying well-informed was a must and a very considerate addition to their big day!
White Ink put together some gorgeous pieces for Camille and Daniel. A customized seating chart, wedding welcome sign, and bar menu were just the start. We also provided our popular acrylic table numbers as well as one of our favorite items- the signage for the couple’s memorial table.
“How do we get started?” First, our clients will look over White Ink’s Request a Quote Form where they can fill us in on the types of event signage they’re looking for and provide the day-of details. From there, folks can view our inventory of rentals in the White Ink collection that are available; or they can choose to use their own signs that we can customize! On this form, we try to get ALL of the info we can in order to give clients the most accurate quote. If they aren’t sure about what signs are best for an event, we can help with that! Clients can even upload pics of some event signage inspo for us to see!
We also ensure the perfect way to get your event signs to you. Whether it’s coordinating with your planner for pick up or arranging the right time for your signage to be delivered, we’ve got you! Our team is the best at what we do. So, what’s your sign?
We are honored to help clients like Camille and Daniel achieve the wedding of their dreams. And we love the signs they chose to use on their big day! The White Ink team was happy to get to work for them and give them exactly the signs they were looking for. Cheers to this amazing couple!
Amanda and Adam’s wedding was the first on our schedule for the 2021 season, and it was honestly the best start to the kind of wedding season we were hoping for! Winter weddings offer an inviting change of style and energy to the wedding scene, which makes it really special to us. Amanda and Adam trusted White Ink to dive into our creativity and give them some amazing wedding details that we know you’re going to love!
Let’s start with the custom invitation wedding suite. These invites were fully-calligraphed which is not only gorgeous, but also has the amazing ability to effortlessly demand the attention of its reader. In short, this suite is powerful and bold, quite like a winter wedding. The beautiful gold ink work was done using thermography: a process where heat is used to infuse a powdered resin with ink to naturally raise the lettering and give way to a flawless textured look. Always a treat getting to do this for my couples!
Moving on to more wedding keepsakes, I was excited to show you Amanda and Adam’s precious vow envelopes. We LOVE envelope calligraphy, especially when we know it’s going to be something that will be treasured for a lifetime! If you are planning to write your own vows, elevate this beautiful memory with custom calligraphy. You absolutely will not regret taking time to do this for yourselves.
White Ink’s touch could be seen throughout the ceremony and reception. I loved getting to use our gorgeous, ornamented mirror for Amanda and Adam’s wedding welcome sign. One of the best things about using the mirrors from our collection is getting to reuse and customize each of them to fit the style of the bride and groom. The same goes for our card boxes (these are honestly my favorite little things ever!).
The mirrored seating chart we made was surrounded by oversized candles and draped in a gorgeous arrangement of florals. It’s always nice to see these seating charts presented in such a beautiful way. Hand lettering mirrors is something White Ink has been doing since the very beginning. It’s a detail that always delivers and has stood the test of time for so many events. Pro tip: A hand lettered seating chart also allows your guests to get a glimpse of themselves for a much-appreciated wardrobe check.
From the stunning Clemintine Hall venue in the heart of Nashville to the four-tiered cake, Amanda and Adam’s winter wedding was certainly one to remember. It was a dream! White Ink was lucky to have such an unforgettable start to another fantastic wedding season.
I absolutely love getting a chance to show you guys projects that White Ink does that are completely outside of the wedding scene. It’s a great opportunity for us to remind folks that calligraphy belongs in any event!
One of Nashville’s top lifestyle-influencers and bloggers, Hunter Premo, reached out to White Ink for help in personalizing the coolest first birthday party we’ve ever seen! This day was all about Remy, the birthday boy. His first birthday seriously blew us away. And our team had a ton fun creating some unique pieces that are sure to bring a bit of birthday inspo to you.
Let’s go to summer camp! This camp-themed birthday was filled with all the nostalgia any summer camp lover could ask for with activities like archery, fishing, workshop, bounce house, watering hole (bar), even a reptile petting station! White Ink got to create the wooden activity signs that were perfectly situated against one of the trees on the property. This definitely made for a great conversation piece. (The owners liked them so much they actually kept them up long after the party was over.)
White Ink’s touch could be spotted throughout “camp” as we created special signage at many of the stations. The adventure sign broke down all of the scheduled activities for the day, which turns out to be a really helpful source when there is such a young audience to entertain. Campers of all ages could enjoy refreshments with lemonades for the little campers and cocktails for the more mature campers! We loved getting to make this sign, so cute!
My personal favorite was the table for Remy’s “time capsule”. We did the sign for this station asking folks to write down a message for Remy to open on his 18th birthday. How awesome is that! I wonder what words of wisdom he’ll smile at when he reads them.
White Ink Calligraphy has the best clients in the world! We love it when we get to keep celebrating some of the biggest moments throughout their lives. Remy, we hope your day was filled with all of the love and wonder you deserve. We were so happy just to be a part of it!
