Like the pop of a champagne cork, White Ink has burst into yet another wedding season. And we are ready for it! This is, hands down, our favorite time to really showcase what we love to do for our couples. Samantha and Graham were easily the sweetest bride and groom we’ve had the pleasure to work with. In fact, I took particular pride in getting to be a part of their big day because Samantha was a wedding planner once upon a time. She is a creative herself, so trusting White Ink with the finer details of her wedding was a great honor.
Today, Samantha and Graham are both teachers. They exude a perfect balance of love, humor, and comfort. That balance shone through during the entire process of creating the wedding details that were just right for them. We swoon for the blushing hues of these invitations! These colors poured beautifully into their wedding.
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the beauty of gifting an engraved bottle to our grooms? A gift as bold as the sting of its contents but as delicate as the glass that holds it.
The event signage for the ceremony met the guests with subtle displays of rosy ombre tints. We love the gentleness that the signage added to the already gorgeous ambiance of chandeliers and cobble stone in Long Hollow Gardens’ Greenhouse venue.
Naturally, these dreamy colors jumped into the reception with these fun acrylic tabletop signs for Samantha and Graham’s seating chart, drink bar, and decadent chocolate bar! Now it’s a party!
After our couple and their guests danced the night away, everyone was free to take home a little piece of the evening with these adorable koozies! And to the happy couple, we couldn’t have said it better, “Cheers Ya’ll!”
We are just over the moon for Allison & Jon. We literally jumped up and down when this photo gallery came through. We had the pleasure of working with Allison, the bride, from her invitations through the wedding day details. Claire was even onsite for the setup of the below epic seating chart display. Scroll down, this is a fun one. Not only is this a super fun wedding, but the love beams off of Allison and Jon throughout the day. We are so excited to share this wedding with you. Photos by Caitlin Steva Photography. Allison and Jon’s wedding planner was Olive and Ivy Events.
Our bride is an amazing cake baker! So naturally, she made her own wedding cake. These photos of her with her mom, putting the final touches on the cake, make our hearts smile. Check her out! Sweet Remedies Cakes.
Allison and Jon’s invitation suite is the definition of timeless. They used spot calligraphy in silver thermography with a light blue envelope. White Ink’s studio image of this same suite can be found on Instagram.
Ravenswood Mansion showed off on this perfect day spring day! Guests were greeted at the ceremony on the front lawn with a string ensemble; custom programs and a custom welcome sign. The bride framed the printed welcome sign. Florals by LMA Designs.
Allison reserved the WHITE INK JACKET and we are OBSESSED! The jacket is for my Nashville brides who want to be a part of the sisterhood of the traveling wedding jacket, while giving back to our community at the same time.
We love some good bar signs. The story behind the first bar sign – I had originally written out the time window that the whiskey tasting would take place. When onsite for setup of the wedding, the planner said there was enough alcohol to keep the tasting going all night. Cheers to erasing that part of the sign! Ha! The signature cocktails sign contains sport calligraphy and custom cocktail artwork.
Before heading to find their seats, guests were greeted with a seating chart wall. The ombre colored pockets had the guest names written in white ink calligraphy. Inside the pocket contained a vintage inspired ticket and a seat assignment. The ticket was for the big surprise – the hot air balloon!
Did I mention they had an ice cream truck?!
Also, adding the hot air balloon basket banner to my list of favorite lettering projects to date.
In October 2020, during the midst of a pandemic, a handful of Nashville wedding vendors came together to create some magic at the new venue in town – The Saint Elle. The Saint Elle opened, with restrictions on event capacities in Davidson County, and we were eager to get inside and check it out since large events weren’t happening in Nashville. We were also happy to support and show love to this amazing venue. The space is fresh, has some of the most amazing natural light one could ask for, and is nothing less than what I would have expected from the ladies that created The Cordelle; another event venue in Nashville. Elizabeth Nord, the photographer for this shoot, pulled together all of the vendors. While I wasn’t able to be onsite the day of the shoot, I couldn’t be more ecstatic with the shots that Elizabeth provided. And, as always, I was so lucky that Jennifer with Feather + Oak was onsite – she always styles my paper in the dreamiest way.

The Saint Elle has a patio on the front of the building, dressed with boxwood walls. THESE COME WITH THE SPACE! I imagine acrylic seating charts; neon signs; and all the light being hung from these boxwoods. There’s so much creative freedom with the slate that they provide. Brides, let’s do this together!
Handmade paper with calligraphy
The handmade paper that I used for this shoot is from Share Studios. The paper is less “toothy” as we would say in the calligraphy world and is absolutely divine to write on; no prep work for the paper is necessary. The raw edges give the paper a romantic feel – but truly, photos don’t do this paper justice.

The details that Lucy and Gary included in their BIG DAY were game changers. I’m sitting here looking through their photo gallery, and there are just SO MANY amazing photos. First, Lucy’s dress. I can’t. Second, Gary and his mom had an epic dance (so it appears, just looking through the photos)! The couple was married at the classic Union Station Hotel in downtown Nashville. Their ceremony and reception were both held in the hotel lobby, which is a stunner. So anyway, I’m here to share the details. It’s the bridesmaids’ duties to share their super cute images of their black floor length bridesmaid gowns; and family to share the sweet images of the flower girls. For me, I’m sharing the details that my future brides want to see!
This invitation suite was created using my spot calligraphy. Every line was hand lettered by ME, and then digitally reprinted. Spot calligraphy is always close to my heart – it ensures that the calligraphy on your invitation and envelopes MATCH; as well as the rest of the calligraphy used throughout! The emerald green envelope brings a modern touch to a very classic suite. Interested in Vintage Postage? The Little Postage House is my favorite source!
The wedding was planned by Erin Lynn Events, a wedding planner who lives in Nashville, but plans all over the country. I had the opportunity to drop by the setup for this event and see Erin in action!
FLORALS. Can we just take these florals in? Like let’s sit here and process them. Because they were stunners. Florals were done by Mary Love with Rosemary & Finch . Her work on the fireplace, come on. Also, Mary made sure that we popped some greenery on the welcome sign (something that is often overlooked when planning)!
John Myers Photography is the team behind the lens in these photos. I had the opportunity to pop in and say hi to Lucy when she was taking her portraits. This was actually my first time meeting John in person (AND Lucy for that matter!), we’ve been Instagram besties for awhile now.
Guests were welcomed at the entry of the lobby with a mirrored welcome sign. After the ceremony, guests grabbed their escort cards, which were done in gold calligraphy on ivory tented card stock. And the tables were dressed with my table number rentals.
The spot calligraphy used on the invitation suite was carried over to the wedding program.
A huge thank you to Lucy for being a part of the #whiteinkjacket movement! Not sure what this is all about. Be sure to CLICK HERE to read all about it. This project is so close to my heart! And Gary, stop being so precious 🙂
Lucy and Gary’s big day was the dreamiest. Classic and elegant with Nashville style. It’s always a pleasure to be a part of such a lovely event. xo – Claire
Hey you! I’m going to give this a whirl – this thing we call blogging! Let’s start with my New Year’s Eve styled shoot at Noelle Hotel, located in downtown Nashville.
I’ve never worked with the photographer, Allyography, before, but she reached out and I knew right away that I wanted my work to be under her lens. We also have a similar style when it comes to our Instagram stories, so I just knew it was meant to be 🙂 .
So what is so ironic about this NYE shoot at Noelle Hotel?! My younger sister, Townley, got engaged on NYE and we went into full planning mode on Jan 3! The first venue we toured was the Noelle Hotel, and she and her fiancé fell in love. I stepped away for about 5 minutes to chat with a fellow wedding planner, I came back and they were signing the dotted line!
The details from this shoot just scream NYE CELEBRATION: sparkles; champagne coupes; a BOLD cake; and classic black and white stationery with a little bit of brush lettering edge to it.
Fun Fact: I’ve always wanted to ATTEND a NYE wedding. It is literally on my bucket list. So to any of my brides looking to ring in the new year with their big day, I’m your girl!
SO HERE IS TO THE NEW YEAR and new beginnings for White Ink Calligraphy. I plan to make this invitation suite a semi-custom suite this year. So, CHEERS to that! Can’t wait to start offering this option to my clients! xo – Claire
