I like to think that I have been exceptionally lucky in getting to see the most amazing details that this wedding town has to offer. From striking floral arrangements to grand venues, White Ink is constantly wowed by the visions that our couples and fellow creatives have pieced together. Just when you think you’ve seen all things wedding, a couple like Taylor and Jacob come along and remind you that there is so much more to see!
Once again, White Ink returns to the remarkable Saint Elle venue which is known for its distinct modern features. Taylor and Jacob used the beauty of this setting to incorporate their own expressive and romantic styles in one of the dreamiest boho style weddings we have ever seen. Take a look at these photos to see some of our favorite moments from the day. (Peep the triangular arbor!)
Seating charts are a wedding reception’s hidden gem. They offer simplicity in an otherwise high energy setting. Your guests don’t have to worry about having to pick a spot for themselves and can enjoy the transition from cocktail hour to dining. White Ink LOVES seating charts because, for a calligrapher, the choice of canvas is seemingly unlimited. Look at how incredible our couple’s seating chart display was! I mean, calligraphy on VINTAGE VASES! This display is honestly one of the most impressive things I’ve gotten to put my touch on. We still can’t get over how fun this project was!
Another item White Ink prepared for Taylor and Jacob was signage displaying the “Order of Events” and the “Wedding Party.” The idea of keeping your guests informed this way is a personal favorite of mine. Another, favorite for the White Ink team is the adorable “Cards” box that we have recently added to our expansive rental collections. We love getting to customize this small but mighty feature for our lovely couples.
Taylor and Jacob were not shy when it came to choosing expressive, modern, boho and delightfully wild colors and florals for their big day. We are grateful for every couple that we get to work with, especially the ones that open our eyes to a wedding like we’ve never seen before. And we just can’t wait for more.
Most people have been to at least a handful of weddings in their lifetime. Weddings are something we all have in common whether we’ve attended as the guest, as part of the bridal party or as the couple. I think you understand when I say, weddings carry energy, an energy that is specific to each couple. There are a million different ways to celebrate your big day and they are all incredibly unique and special. At White Ink, some of our favorite celebrations come from weddings like Rachel and Derek’s. The energy was higher that the moonlit sky and we will never forget it!
Our bride, Rachel, was so fun to work with. She is a wedding, lifestyle, and boudoir photographer here in Nashville and knows how to shine in front of the lens! She and Derek were the perfect, most easy-going couple who really let their personality take over the details of their gorgeous wedding. My team and I had SO much fun putting together their invites. The colors were beautiful alone, but guests were wowed with a stunning print of the famous Bouguereau painting, “The Birth of Venus” as the envelope liner. I mean, I need more showstopping moments like this.
White Ink was also honored with the task of creating the head-table acrylic place cards. Rachel and Derek included the acrylic table numbers from the White Ink rental collection that always fit so perfectly no matter the décor of the event. Here’s something you never knew you needed for you wedding reception; cake flavor signage! So brilliant. We created the cake flavor sign for Rachel and Derek’s cake table and it worked like a charm. Perhaps this is something you might include in your next celebration?
After the gorgeous ceremony, Rachel’s reception outfit-change let everyone know it was time to celebrate! Between the live music, cascading florals, and breathtaking lighting, the energy of this wedding was always moving. A wedding that moved is the only way to describe it. And as the night moved, time stood still. Our memories from this day will be as sweet as champagne. Cheers!
Like the pop of a champagne cork, White Ink has burst into yet another wedding season. And we are ready for it! This is, hands down, our favorite time to really showcase what we love to do for our couples. Samantha and Graham were easily the sweetest bride and groom we’ve had the pleasure to work with. In fact, I took particular pride in getting to be a part of their big day because Samantha was a wedding planner once upon a time. She is a creative herself, so trusting White Ink with the finer details of her wedding was a great honor.
Today, Samantha and Graham are both teachers. They exude a perfect balance of love, humor, and comfort. That balance shone through during the entire process of creating the wedding details that were just right for them. We swoon for the blushing hues of these invitations! These colors poured beautifully into their wedding.
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the beauty of gifting an engraved bottle to our grooms? A gift as bold as the sting of its contents but as delicate as the glass that holds it.
The event signage for the ceremony met the guests with subtle displays of rosy ombre tints. We love the gentleness that the signage added to the already gorgeous ambiance of chandeliers and cobble stone in Long Hollow Gardens’ Greenhouse venue.
Naturally, these dreamy colors jumped into the reception with these fun acrylic tabletop signs for Samantha and Graham’s seating chart, drink bar, and decadent chocolate bar! Now it’s a party!
After our couple and their guests danced the night away, everyone was free to take home a little piece of the evening with these adorable koozies! And to the happy couple, we couldn’t have said it better, “Cheers Ya’ll!”
You guys, this is what copper wedding dreams are made of. First, let’s give a shoutout to the bride. Kendall and I met through my sister. Kendall and my sister at the same apartment complex and Kendall snapped some amazing photos of my sister and her dog. Come to find out Kendall is a wedding photographer and our paths certainly crossed many of times. Kendall asked me to be a part of her big day and I couldn’t have been more honored. She brought in some of the most amazing details, incorporating copper, rose gold, and the most amazing wedding dress. I love that she stayed true to her personal style and carried her style through every detail of this amazing day. Enjoy these photos! I hope they make you as happy as they make me!
Kendall’s invitation suite was from Minted.com. I provided the calligraphy – mixing pointed pen (for the addresses) and brush calligraphy (for the names) to match the style of her invitation. Just remember, I work with all different types of stationers! I can still do your envelope calligraphy, even if you get your invitations elsewhere 🙂
Kendall’s personality shined through literally every single photo. It makes my heart smile. I love that she stayed true to her style. Her pup made it to the big day as well!
The reception venue, the Cordelle, is in the heart of Downtown Nashville and one of the most timeless venues in my opinion. It is so versatile and is always a crowd pleaser. It provides a blank slate for brides, but has all the beautiful elements at the same time (hello amazing floors).
Kendall knew right away that she wanted to utilize my copper frames from my rental collection. The way she and her planner styled everything was a game changer, for sure. So stunning! From the welcome sign, seating chart, table numbers and bar signage – it all matched with matching copper frames.
Guests found their table on the seating chart, and their seat from their place card. Each place card sitting so pretty with the loveliest table-scape.
Oh hey! There is the bride with my sister, Townley. Sorry, had to throw this one in there! Ha!
Lavender is coming back with a pretty big bang. Well, we are carrying it throughout 2020 like WHOA. First, let’s chat about this venue. Originally built in 1960, the nearly 13,000 sq. ft. Southern Colonial mansion in Nashville, Tennessee, is most widely recognized as the former home of award-winning artist, actor, and author, Reba McEntire. In 2017, the Estate opened its doors as a wedding venue and event center. I’ve been on the property several times, settings up for events as well as attending events, and let’s just say, it is one of my favorites. SO HERE IT IS, my first venue sketch, which will likely turn into a series. It is super fitting that my first sketch is of Cherokee Dock.
I think the most forgotten item from an invitation suite is the classic “Thank You” Card; which is why I created a matching thank you card for this suite! Let’s bring this trend back, keeping all mailed items from the bride and groom to be matching!
The vision and coordination behind this shoot comes from Elizabeth Events. Annie, the planner with Elizabeth Events, is a dream to work with. Annie and I have been working together for a few years now and it’s always a YES for me when she reaches out regarding a shoot. Some of my favorite images of my work come from her styled shoots.
Yes, why YESSSS, that’s a REAL FLORAL bodice on that dress. There are just no other words, right? I love the creative freedom that was taken here.
Check out my new table number rentals! These are acrylic frames, which are freestanding, and include handmade paper on the inside of the frame. All of my rentals can be found HERE.
Hexagon acrylic place cards, with a painted back, bring the table together.
New offerings for my bar signage – digital pet sketches. Personally, I don’t LOVE cartoon pets sittings on top of a classy bar top, with all of your beautiful stemware sitting around. I just don’t love it. It’s cute, but it’s not my style, so don’t hate me. My solution to this is to use these monochromatic pet sketches, next to my calligraphy. Let’s keep it classy, ladies.
These pet sketches were done digitally. They are not sketched by hand. The calligraphy is done by hand after I’ve printed out the sketches. An acrylic tabletop easel is used in this photo. Remy was just really excited to get his time in the spotlight. 🙂
I’m slowly rolling out my offerings of in-house printing services. This menu includes my calligraphy for the titles of each section on the menu – printing on handmade paper.
